Duos is a game mode in Dota Underlords where 8 teams of two players fight each other. In this mode teams share the same health and player level. Players can also send heroes and gold to their teammate.

Player[edit | edit source]

Health[edit | edit source]

Similar to Standard mode, teams start with 100 health, but damage is dealt according to the following rules:

  • If both players from the same team won the round, the damage is added up and the losing team takes that damage.
    • Example: if a player from Team A deals 9 damage while the other player from Team A deals 7, then the opponent team takes 9 + 7 or 16 damage.
  • If only one player of each team won, the team that did the least damage takes only the difference, while the other team takes no damage.
    • Example: if a player from Team A deals 12 damage while a player from Team B deals 10, then team B takes |12 - 10| or 2 damage.
  • If opposing teams deal the same amount of damage no health is lost.

Player level is shared between both players. Teams gain 2 XP every round.

Hero pool[edit | edit source]

The total number of heroes available in the match is twice as much from Standard.

Sending heroes[edit | edit source]

An area in the shop, below the heroes, shows how many of that hero your teammate has. A hero can be sent to your teammate by: selecting it and pressing the SEND button, by dragging the hero into the button or by pressing the F key on the keyboard. A hero can't be sent to your teammate if they have no room on their bench.

Sending gold[edit | edit source]

Players can send 1 gold to their teammate by pressing the Send 1 gold.png button below the shop.

Streaks[edit | edit source]

Win streaks are only granted to players winning rounds while their isn't taking damage. Once the team takes damage, the streak is lost, even if that player never lost a round.

Team names[edit | edit source]

Teams receive random nicknames from the list:

  • Battle Buddies
  • Brawl Besties
  • Mischief Makers
  • Combat Comrades
  • Fight Friends
  • Melee Mates
  • Punch Pals
  • Scuffle Squad

Rewards[edit | edit source]

The following Wanted Poster Title will be rewarded for playing a Duos match. Can be earned by playing with Hardcore (XP) bots.
